I have a bad habit of doing that thing where I read the first book of a series and never continue it despite liking the first book. This is partially because I first I was reading the Song of Ice and Fire books so I didn’t want to start another series on the side and then I moved on to the Outlander series which I’m still working on. I’m a book and a half away from catching up with it though so soon I’ll be able to commit to some other series! So here are some that I have planned to continue at some point.
Phèdre’s Trilogy by Jacqueline Carey
I read Kushiel’s Dart last year and absolutely fell in love with it! There are two other trilogies that take place in the Kushiel world too and I will definitely read all of them at some point. I never expected to love Kushiel’s Dart so much because usually high fantasy stuff like this is pretty hard to read but it was just so good. Only thing that makes me sad is that I most likely won’t be able to get the rest of the series with the same cover as the first one because they seemed pretty impossible to find anymore, so I’ll have to settle for the newer covers.
White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland
I actually don’t remember when I read the first book in this series, My Life as a White Trash Zombie, but I remember really liking it. I’m usually not a fan of zombie novels at all but this kind of zombie stuff is good since it’s more similar to vampires and other creatures like that rather than just the usual “oh no the world is ending and everyone gets eaten by zombies”. The show iZombie actually reminds me a lot of this series since both main characters end up working at the morgue for easy brain access. I keep saying I want to continue this so I definitely need to one day!
Georgina Kincaid by Richelle Mead
This is a funny one because I have apparently given Succubus Blues only 2 stars on Goodreads but I can’t remember what I disliked about it. All I remember is that it was a nice easy read! I want to continue this series because succubus type demons are something I feel like I don’t see a lot and I find them interesting (and I want to see how the romance works out).
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
I read Rebel of the Sands during our last year’s Traveling Book Project and it was definitely my favorite of the four books I got to read. I liked that it was a little different world than I’m used to seeing in fantasy books. The story was interesting and there was also some romance developing so obviously I need to know what happens with that.
Do you guys have many series you’ve been meaning to continue but still haven’t for some reason?
